RONDIRIS, DIMITRIS
(Pireas, 1899 - Athens, 1981)

Great director and teacher of dramatic art. He worked as an actor with the company of Marika Kotopouli and studied the theatre art next to the great German director Max Reinhardt. After Fotos Politis death and up to 1942 he was appointed as the sole director of the NATIONAL THEATRE and in 1957 he founded the PIRAIKON THEATRON with which he travelled in Greece and all over the world presenting mainly performances of ancient tragedies. Rondiris directed over 150 plays of the classical, neoclassical and modern dramaturgy.
